My Theory

My theory, which belongs to me, is as follows.... This is how it goes.... The next thing I am going to say is my theory. Ready?

My theory, by L. Llama (Mr). This theory goes as follows and begins now:

There are a lot of skuas in the North Sea at the moment, and it's going to rain this afternoon, so there might be one at Rutland Water.

That is my theory that is mine and belongs to me and I own it and what it is, too. Unlike the rest of this post, which is entirely stolen from a Monty Python sketch:

UPDATE:

After extensive observations at Rutland Water this afternoon, by myself and others, the number of skuas passing through per hour was conservatively estimated to be zero, thus proving the theory to be, in the immortal words of Douglas Adams, a load of foetid dingo's kidneys. However, some consolation was provided by a juv Pec Sand on Lagoon 3 and later in South Arm 3, and a couple of Curlew Sands and Little Stints on the island.

Not seen that vid for yonks Andy....[and once again proving that Python were light years ahead in comedy]...save for dear old Spike of course...

I had the same theory as you about skuas at Rutty...[and naturally enough we saw fuck all yesterday]...

That's theories for you....

ps...if you wanna see some comedy that's way ahead of everyone else then go and see Stewart Lee at the De Montfort Hall later this month...

[but if you think he's shit then don't bother of course]...

So are you going to test the theory by going to look for skuas in the pissing rain this afternoon? I can't decide whether I can be arsed or not.

Chances are it will be a case of getting soaked and seeing fuck nothing.

If I do go, I think the end of the Hambleton Peninsula is probably the best bet - good view of the whole of the eastern end of the res from there. And I found a Sabine's in the rain from there once, so it's got some sort of form...

"To be arsed or not to be arsed"...that is the question...to which i have no answer at the moment...

But knowing me i shall probably venture out later...

ps...Rod and co have gone to Norfolk today and as i haven't had a text from 'em yet am presuming that they've seen relatively naff all re seabirds....

'Presuming' is often a bad thing though...

The trouble is, these bloody birds don't read your blog. I doubt if they actually can read at all. I blame that blasted Mr. Gove and his gormless ideas..... best wishes Mr Llama , although I doubt if it's your real name.
