Apparently there's going to be a release programme at Rutland Water as they bred there 3000BC, despite the fact that RW was only created around 30 years ago.
Talking of breeding and Pensthorpe, I've just been wacthing a hideous pair creatures from there on the Springwatch programme. One was talking a load of old bollocks and the other looked like hairy old bollocks. This pair have held territory for the last few years but thankfully there appears to be no resulting offspring to worry about.
Well spotted Mark, and yes, you can tick it. Re Springwatch, the idea of those two hybridising (while Simon King films them with his super slow-mo camera?) doesn't bear thinking about. The programme's a good idea, and I'd much rather see that on TV than most of the crap that's on, but it's long overdue for some new and less irritating presenters. I can only watch it with the sound off!
And isn't that a piss take of L.A.R.G.Ego getting there 'in time' to see the Pacific Swift?
As for Springwatch they really could do better, I'm not sure the BBC would have any less irritating presenters unless we resurrect Sir Peter Scott and move the show to Slimbridge. I don't particularly like Kate Humble, well i really don't like her but i can't help thinking she's looking a bit ragged at the edges these days.
Ah, Pacific Swift, it brings back memories...of last month on Happy Island, if you're wondering. Things would be seriously wrong if I didn't remember something that recent! Is it just me, or is it disturbing that, on more than one occasion on Dudewatch, Kate has corrected Bill on a bird ID? No wonder the Eleonora's got chucked...

Hey - isn't that a Pacific Swift. Better views than some top listers managed - can I tick it?

No, not at all - it's a total coincidence. I picked a completely random bird to put on the new header, and it just happened to be a Pacific Swift.
