They're getting closer!

With records in the last few days from West Midlands, Derbyshire and now Notts, Leicestershire's first Glossy Ibis must be imminent, but where will it be?

Most likely at Rutland Water, and I think there would be a nice symmetry to it if Matt Berriman were to find it...

...but then I've been awake since about 3 o'clock this morning, so I may just be losing it slightly.

Vis mig this morning was crap. I can't remember how many Mipits went over, but it wasn't many, and not much else either. No doubt John will put something about it on his blog later.

I should be out in the field in order to maximize me chances of seeing a fly-by glossy...but....as i feel like a huge bag of crap today i doubt if i'll venture out again. Reckon i got 'sand-hill flu' or summat...actually it's just a bitch of a cold...great!

ps...if i self medicate myself enuff...perhaps then i'll see some flying pig-ibis fly over....

And I should be out in the field as well, but I can't be arsed. So I'll just look out of the window at the field behind my house and hope a Glossy Ibis flies over that...

No sign down the Soar Valley this afternoon of any Glossys.
Hopefully try again later in the week?
